Aparna Gaur has over a decade of experience in intellectual property (IP), education, and technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) law. She was recognized by Legal500 (2024, 2025) as a “Leading Individual” for IP and a “Rising Star” for TMT.

Aparna advises Indian and international clients on a wide range of issues, including data protection, cybersecurity, cross-border data transfers, online gaming, digital payments, e-commerce, advertising, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. She has particular expertise in cybersecurity compliance and risk management, having advised clients across sectors on CERT-In directions, incident response frameworks, security obligations in technology contracts, and sectoral cybersecurity mandates such as SEBI’s CSCRF framework.

She brings deep expertise in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters, including IP enforcement, litigation strategy, and IP prosecution—trademark, copyright, and patent filings and oppositions. Her transactional practice includes advising on tech and IP-heavy commercial arrangements, such as licensing, SaaS and cloud services agreements, joint development contracts, and franchise and content deals. She has also advised on several India entry and structuring mandates for global technology and consumer businesses.

Aparna has significant experience working with Indian and foreign educational institutions, edtech platforms, and investors on regulatory, commercial, and policy issues impacting the education sector.
She previously worked at Rajeshwari & Associates, Nishith Desai Associates, and most recently, at Trilegal. Aparna is also a registered Patent Agent in India.
